SSA 27 Reconstitution
West Lakeview Special Service Area 27 (SSA)'s 15 year term ends 12/31/2025, and as such, we are in the midst of a renewal process called Reconstitution. This Reconstitution process is also the time within which an SSA may opt to alter its boundaries or maximum tax rate cap, but SSA 27 has opted to not alter either at this time.
Should SSA 27's reconstitution process fail, West Lakeview will lose crucial SSA services such as Litter Pickup, Landscaping, Holiday Decor, Outdoor Furniture Maintenance, Community Events (such as Lincoln Brunch Fest and the Lakeview Tree Lighting Ceremony), Public Art, and much more.
Reconstitution is the only time frame wherein the SSA may opt to adjust either boundaries or maximum tax rate cap, and the SSA has voted to change neither as part of its 2025 Reconstitution. For reference, SSA 27 maintains one of the lowest tax rate caps among SSAs in the City of Chicago. With this decision, SSA 27 have vowed to keep West Lakeview thriving and growing while maintaining a low tax impact on property owners. The SSA must either wait until the end of its next 15 year term or Reconstitute early should they decide they wish to adjust either boundaries or maximum tax rate cap.
To keep West Lakeview safe, beautiful, and vibrant, we will require 20% of signatures representing all Property Index Numbers (PIN) within the SSA 27 boundaries. We will begin to collect Signature Forms starting in Mid-March, and will be able to provide pre-filled Signature Forms for easy signing upon request.
For more information and to learn how to sign for your PIN, please refer to lakeviewssa27.com/reconstitution or email SSA 27 Program Manager Robert Morvay at robert@lrvcc.org.
